IOWA LIONS DISTRICT 9SE
9SE DG Don Foor
I am District Governor Don Foor from Letts, Iowa. I was born in Muscatine, and raised in Fruitland. I attended country school, Kindergarten through grade 8, then attended Louisa-Muscatine High School in Letts.
I am married to my wife Dianne for 22 Years. We have six children, all grown and scattered throughout the country. We have ten grandchildren who range from fifty years to age eight. Only three of them are in school now.
I am retired now and have been for a number of years. I have worked as a machinist, as a carpenter, and an oil field worker.
I have been a small business operator from a farm implement dealership to a small trucking company in Louisiana, specializing in oil field hot shot delivery.
I have been a Lion for over ten years now, and am a member of the Grandview-Letts Lions Club. My hobbies are Woodworking and most importantly playing guitar and singing. I have been a musician for over forty years playing in bands around my part of the country. I now play for the nursing home set and community functions.
My DG Pin is a guitar, with the words” Service with no strings attached.” This is my motto for my year as 9 SE District Governor. If you will notice there are no strings on the guitar.
I look forward to visiting your club this next year and sharing my message to you, but also learning about your club along the way. Most of all I want to listen to you.
